Chelsea Green reveals her own marketing strategy WWE didn’t understand
Current interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green recently revealed a marketing strategy for WWE she has been using.
While Green won the interim WWE Women’s title at SummerSlam, she has previously held the WWE Women’s United States Championship and the Tag Team titles in WWE.
Speaking on the Nikki & Brie Show before suffering her injury, Green opened up on carrying her titles everywhere she went.
“Oh, green light 100%. It’s actually the only reason that I feel like people started acknowledging me was at the beginning when I won the tag titles. I took that everywhere,” Green said.
The 35-year-old claimed that she took the title to every appearance she booked for herself. While WWE never understood the need for it, Green believed it worked as a marketing strategy, attracting more eyeballs.
“I took it to every game. I got myself booked on things that WWE was like, ‘What is this?’ I’m like, ‘It matters to about 10 people.’ And like those 10 people will tell their family and friends. I took it everywhere, and I acted like that was the world title.”
“So definitely green light, and I think you should be obnoxious because otherwise nobody will know and nobody will care,” she finished.
Green recently suffered an orbital bone injury just days after winning her title. However, there are currently no confirmed updates on her in-ring status or potential injury absence.

In the same appearance on the Nikki & Brie Show, Green opened up and addressed her recent projects out of WWE. “I have a horror movie called Red Wedding that’s coming out. So, I just filmed it in May. I was actually going between doing night shoots on set in Alabama to SmackDowns. It was insane. I would work from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., take the 8 a.m. flight to SmackDown, go right to the arena, do SmackDown, take the red-eye back to Alabama, and then start again.”
“I absolutely did. It was so terrifying. I had all prosthetics put on. I can’t wait to show pictures. I had all these prosthetics on and it scared myself. It was so cool. I don’t like horror. It brought out like a love for that genre that I didn’t know I had. So, I’m hoping that once that comes out that maybe the horror genre accepts me in, and maybe I get to do more of those,” Green added.
