Chelsea Green reveals her struggles with acting and auditions: ‘I can’t separate myself’
Recently promoting WWE Unreal on Netflix’s second season launch, former WWE Women’s United States champion Chelsea Green appeared on Stars SiriusXM 109, where she opened up about the struggles of auditioning for acting roles as a WWE superstar.
When asked about the challenges of separating herself from her WWE persona and whether Hollywood takes that into account, Green responded, “So it’s funny because my name is Chelsea Green. My real name is Chelsea Green. My wrestling name is Chelsea Green.”
“So it’s good and it’s bad because I can’t separate myself. If they look me up, which they’re gonna look anyone up who they have like a callback especially. Or if my agent pitches me because they think it’s a good idea. Oh, she has so many followers because that’s a thing now,” Green continued. “Hollywood wants people with followers, but then they don’t want wrestlers. So it’s like a very weird vibe where I use it to my advantage, but if I’m feeling like it’s not to my advantage, I will shut it down and that’s why I took off all my nails. I don’t have fake eyelashes. I don’t have fake hair. Like I don’t have all the things when I go to those auditions. I look like Joe Schmo. Like the next girl because I would rather that than what you see on my Instagram, which is glam times a thousand.”
She further elaborated on how different actors and wrestlers look, “Yeah. You know, a lot of wrestlers, they don’t look like normal humans. They look incredible. Like, they look like they belong on a stage. But that’s not what actors look like, right? Actors look real beautiful. Skinny, right, but very real.“
Green recently lost her WWE Women’s US title to Giulia following a run of 56-days. She is also the current AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion with Ethan Page.
