CM Punk discusses tattoo honoring late dog Larry

CM Punk recently got a tattoo to honor the passing of his dog Larry.

Punk announced in December that the pet he rescued from the PAWS Chicago no-kill shelter nearly a decade ago had passed away.

In a video posted to WWE’s YouTube channel on Friday, Punk spoke about the paw print tattoos that are now on his torso, explaining that the prints are Larry’s. Punk said the tattoo is placed on his chest in the same spot where Larry would sometimes stand when he wanted to go for a walk.

Punk said:

“The Larry tattoo, it is obviously his paw print, that I knew I was gonna get eventually. And it’s just a fun way to remember him.”

“He would stand on me, if I was laying down and he needed anything, he would get up and he would kind of beat me a little bit, and I would ignore him playfully. And then he would just stand on my chest and stare at me until I would finally say, do you want to go for a walk? And he would get all excited. His foot would go right there and his other foot would hit me in the face.”

“I put it right there because you can’t miss it. It’s super visible and it was painful. And I think that’s kind of beautiful in a way too because it was the worst day of my life, but he gave me so many great days. So it’s just a way to remember him.”

Earlier this year, Punk partnered with PAWS Chicago and pizza restaurant Piece Chicago for a fundraising campaign that raised $51,000 for the shelter. Piece Chicago sold a pizza named The Larry, with proceeds benefiting the shelter from January 8 through February 7.

Punk’s vlog from Elimination Chamber last weekend in Chicago is available below. The video is cued to his comments about Larry.
