CM Punk teases AAA appearance at Worlds Collide in Chicago
CM Punk teased potentially showing up at AAA’s event in Chicago during multiple interviews recently.
WWE/AAA/NXT Worlds Collide will take place at the Allstate Arena in Punk’s hometown on Saturday, September 26.
While attending San Diego Comic-Con, Punk spoke with Ringside Collectibles about an upcoming masked Straight Edge Society version of his action figure. Punk said the action figure coming out now is timely as AAA is coming to his hometown of Chicago soon.
Punk said:
“I think it’s super cool. I think it’s also really timely because our sister promotion, AAA, is branching out and they’re doing stuff. I think TripleMania is gonna be partly in Las Vegas this year. We just announced a show for them at the Allstate Arena. So it might be the perfect time for me to kind of dip my toe in the AAA pool. I’ve worn a mask before. I’ve gotten my head shaved in a mask versus hair match before. We can set the table and we can do it all over again in 2026.”
During a panel discussion at San Diego Comic-Con, Punk also “fantasy booked” a match against Dominik Mysterio for Dominik’s AAA Mega Championship at Worlds Collide. Danhausen was trying to purchase Punk’s WWE Championship during the discussion, but Rey Mysterio interjected and encouraged him to buy Dominik’s AAA Mega Championship instead. This led to Punk saying:
“They’ve got a show coming up in Chicago, don’t they? Does Dominik need an opponent? That’s fantasy booking.”
AAA is back live on Saturday, July 25, for the first night of Verano de Escandalo. Dominik is set to team with El Grande Americano against members of Perros del Mal on the show.
