CM Punk WWE UK tour matches set

CM Punk is set to work a slate of matches on WWE’s upcoming European tour.

It was announced today that Punk will be appearing at all of the house shows WWE is holding in the United Kingdom later this month. The five dates are taking place from August 23-28 with stops in Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, and Cardiff.

For the Liverpool house show, WWE is advertising that Punk will challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental title. The four other dates are set to feature a six-man tag match with Punk, Sami Zayn & Penta facing Judgment Day (Dominik, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh)

Here are the locations for each event:

  • Saturday, August 23: M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, England
  • Sunday, August 24: Utilita Arena Newcastle in Newcastle, England
  • Tuesday, August 26: AO Arena in Manchester, England
  • Wednesday, August 27: First Direct Bank Arena in Leeds, England
  • Thursday, August 28: Utilita Arena Cardiff in Cardiff, Wales

WWE Raw is taking place in Birmingham, England on August 25. Punk is not officially advertised for that show at the moment.

These events are happening in advance of WWE’s Clash in Paris PLE, which is being held at Paris La Defense Arena on August 31. France is also hosting an episode of SmackDown before the PLE and Raw the day after.

Punk briefly became World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam last weekend, winning the title from Gunther before Seth Rollins then cashed in to take the title from him. There was an angle on Raw earlier this week where Rollins, Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed laid out Punk, Roman Reigns & LA Knight.
