It is Cody Rhodes Day in Louisville, Kentucky.

WWE SmackDown on Friday will take place at the city’s KFC Yum! Center. Rhodes was in town ahead of the show hosting a meet-and-greet event where it was announced that February 26, 2026, would be officially named in his honor.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg was on hand to inform Rhodes of the news.

“Today is a big day in our city, Cody, to have you here with us,” Greenberg said. “We’re so excited for SmackDown tomorrow night and we wish you the best of luck in the Elimination Chamber.

“Today, throughout the entire city of Louisville, it’s officially Cody Rhodes Day! Let’s give it up for the American Nightmare!”

As the video ended, Greenberg could be heard telling Rhodes, “That’s the closest I’ll ever get to a promo.”

Rhodes trained in Louisville while working in OVW in 2006 and 2007 under Danny Davis and Al Snow.
