Cody Rhodes: Everyone is safe after tour bus caught on fire

Before WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes had a scare when his tour bus caught on fire.

Rhodes posted a tweet on Friday revealing that his tour bus caught fire on Thursday night. No one was hurt in the fire, and Rhodes thanked the Philadelphia Fire Department for handling the situation.

“Before you hear it elsewhere – my tour bus caught fire last night,” he wrote. “Everybody is safe and okay. The 2 items I grabbed before I got off will probably pop wrestling fans. Again, thank you @PhillyFireDept.”

Rhodes was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show shortly after sending out the tweet. He revealed that the two things he grabbed were pictures of his daughter and wife and his boots for WrestleMania.

“There ain’t nobody here who is more ready for WrestleMania than me,” Rhodes declared.

Rhodes said the bus “didn’t burn to a big crisp,” but it was up in a fireball for a moment. Everything worked out except for Rhodes’ suits now smelling like fire.

WWE is in Philadelphia for WrestleMania weekend and its surrounding events.

Lincoln Financial Field is hosting WrestleMania 40 this Saturday and Sunday. Both nights, Rhodes will be competing in the main event. The headlining match of night one is Rhodes & Seth Rollins vs. The Rock & Roman Reigns. Rhodes will then challenge Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at night two.
