Cody Rhodes appears in the new trailer for The Naked Gun reboot.

It was revealed last year that Rhodes would have a “significant cameo” in the remake of the 1988 classic comedy film, which is set to hit theaters on August 1. In the trailer, Liam Neeson’s character slams Rhodes’ face into a bar. When Rhodes looks back up, his face is entirely different.

Neeson stars as police detective Frank Drebin, the role originally played by Leslie Nielsen in the 1988 original and its sequels: The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear and Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult. Pamela Anderson has been cast as Drebin’s love interest.

Cody Rhodes’ Hollywood Ambitions

Rhodes discussed his Hollywood ambitions during an interview with NBC’s The Today Show in the lead-up to WrestleMania this year.

Rhodes said on the show:

“I feel like so many wrestlers will always answer this and say like, ‘Oh, never. No. I’m always going to be wrestling. I love it so much.’ I do — I love wrestling. This is all I’ve ever done, I grew up in wrestling. But for me, I really am looking forward to what it’s like to tell stories not just in the ring,” Rhodes said. “So for me, absolutely, yes.”

Rhodes appeared in seven episodes of the show Arrow, playing Derek Sampson, a drug dealer who becomes unable to feel pain after exposure to a chemical compound.
