Cody Rhodes to face NXT champion at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Cody Rhodes is now scheduled to be in a match against this top NXT star at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Next week, on the December 13th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE is set to host John Cena’s final match. While Cena will face the winner of the Last Time Is Now tournament, the event will also feature several other major bouts, including Rhodes taking on the reigning NXT Champion.
It has now been confirmed that the winner of Ricky Saints vs. Oba Femi at Deadline will face Rhodes on December 13th. At Deadline, Saints is scheduled to defend his NXT Championship against Femi, and the winner will go on to challenge Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Although Rhodes’ opponent is not yet confirmed, Saints and Rhodes share a vivid history dating back from their time together in AEW.
Previously, Cena expressed his desire to spotlight up-and-coming NXT stars during his final night in WWE. Following his statements, WWE has now also booked Bayley vs. Sol Ruca for that night.
