Triple H confirms Cody Rhodes’ status for WWE Wrestlepalooza

Cody Rhodes will be at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
Rhodes’ status for the September 20 PLE had been in question due to his filming commitments for the upcoming Street Fighter movie. However, during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Triple H confirmed that Rhodes will be at the show.
“I’ll give you a spoiler right now, Cody will be back, Indianapolis,” he said.
Triple H didn’t mention if Rhodes will be wrestling on the show or just appearing on it. The storyline reason for Rhodes’ absence on WWE programming is an attack by Drew McIntyre on SmackDown last month.
Dave Meltzer reported in Friday’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it was originally the plan for Rhodes to defend the title against McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza, but McIntyre vs. Orton could possibly be booked instead.
Meltzer wrote:
“The originally scheduled Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre WWE title match scheduled for the show was at last word said to be still up in the air, and it could be McIntyre vs. Randy Orton.”
