Cruiserweight title match set for next week’s NXT

The Cruiserweight title will be on the line on next week’s NXT.

During tonight’s episode, it was announced that Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak will defend his title against Lio Rush on NXT next Wednesday (October 9). Rush returned to WWE television on NXT’s September 18 live premiere and defeated Oney Lorcan in a number one contender’s match to become Gulak’s next challenger.

Starting this week, 205 Live is moving to airing on the WWE Network at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Fridays. It will take place live after SmackDown, which is moving to Fridays on FOX.

Lorcan & Danny Burch defeated Gulak & Tony Nese in the main event of last week’s 205 Live. Nese was pinned after being hit with a double-team DDT.

WWE has also announced WALTER vs. Kushida for next week’s NXT episode. They’ve been building to that match since WALTER and his Imperium stablemates appeared on the September 18 NXT episode.
