Damian Priest reveals advice he gave to Lola Vice following title win

Lola Vice WWE NXT Women's champion

At NXT Stand & Deliver 2026, Lola Vice defeated Jacey Jane and Kendal Grey to crown herself the new NXT Women’s Champion.

Recently speaking to Gabby AF, Damian Priest opened up on his real-life partner Vice’s new championship wins and also revealed a piece of advice he shared with her.

“Obviously like anything else, there are frustrations, ‘What else do I need to do?’ I used to hear it all the time; ‘Just keep doing what you’re doing.’ That’s all you can say to somebody. It’s cool to see that she did do that, and then she achieved it. I know that because that’s what I was told when I found success, won a title, and now you’re going to get busier, and no is when you really have to prove yourself, because all eyes are on you,” Priest added.

“But she’s going to knock it out of the park because she has this crazy drive that’s wild to see, and very encouraging; it inspires you to do more yourself. Like, no matter what I’ve achieved, I see what she does, and I’m like ‘Ooh, I need to work a little harder.’ It’s pretty cool, she earned it, she deserves it, and I hope she really enjoys it.”

Vice also won the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship with Mr. Iguana in February 2025 when they defeated Ethan Page and La Hiedra.

Now she’s a double champ in WWE, it’s crazy. She’s one of the faces of AAA, one of the faces of NXT, which are both basically meaning she’s one of the faces of WWE. It’s awesome. I told her, I was like, ‘Now the real work starts.’ I said it in front of some of her coaches, and they were like ‘oh yeah.’

She’s another one of those success stories, obviously somebody who came from a different world, but then completely changed her life for our business,” Priest claimed. “She just said it on NXT this past week, ‘I’m no longer a former MMA fighter, I’m a WWE superstar.’ What a perfect sentence, because that is what happened.

“She fell in love, now she asks me questions and is intrigued by the history of the business. She does her homework, trains like a mad person. It’s insane, and I get it because when you feel that passion, and you really want it, you completely change everything,” Priest shared.
