Dominik Mysterio accidentally shown as AEW Champion during AAA promo

Dominik Mysterio was accidentally shown as the AEW Champion in a video that aired on Saturday.

During AAA’s premiere episode on Fox in Latin America, a video aired of Mysterio talking about his success in the promotion and cutting promos on celebrities such as Canelo Alvarez and Bad Bunny. AI-generated animation appeared in the video and at one point, one of the images briefly showed Mysterio wearing a championship belt with the AEW logo on it.

As of this writing, the promo can still be seen on social media:

Mysterio, who remains AAA Mega Champion and WWE Intercontineal Champion, suffered a shoulder injury during AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event last month. On the following Monday’s Raw, it was noted that he would be out indefinitely due to injury. However it was reported soon after that he won’t need surgery and would only be out for a few weeks.

El Hijo del Vikingo became the new number one contender for the Mega title on Saturday, defeating El Grande Americano after help from Omos.
