Dominik Mysterio performs opening ceremony for San Diego FC

The 2026-27 MLS season has officially begun, and Dominik Mysterio was present at the stadium for the honors.

In the 2026-27 MLS season and San Diego’s opening match at their home stadium of Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego, California, WWE Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio was present to perform the opening ceremony.

In an Instagram story posted by the team, Mysterio revealed his role for the Saturday, February 21 matchday. “What’s up, everybody? It is your boy, ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio, in my beautiful hometown of San Diego, California. And I am so excited to be the keeper of the flow at SDFC’s Home opener.”

Shortly after, San Diego FC uploaded a video of Mysterio performing the ceremonial pre-match ritual. The 29-year-old was the first Keeper for the 2026 MLS season home opener. Soon, as the fireworks hit, Mysterio shut his ears before walking away.

As of this writing, San Diego FC leads 4-0 against CF Montreal on matchday 1 of this season.
