Drew McIntyre confronts Big E on WWE Raw

Drew McIntyre is back in the WWE Championship picture.

After Big E retained his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley in a steel cage match on Raw tonight, the show ended with McIntyre coming out to the stage to confront Big E. They had a staredown as McIntyre pointed his sword Angela at Big E.

As a stipulation of his loss to Lashley at Hell in a Cell this June, McIntyre wasn’t able to challenge for the WWE Championship again while Lashley was still champion. Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Lashley two weeks ago to win the title.

A WWE Championship match between Big E and Lashley initially kicked off tonight’s Raw, but it ended in a no contest. Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander came out to ringside during the match, reuniting their Hurt Business faction with Lashley. The no contest came when New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made their way out to brawl with Benjamin and Alexander.

Kingston and Woods also fought with Benjamin and Alexander after they got involved in the steel cage main event.

McIntyre was interviewed on Raw Talk after tonight’s show. McIntyre said Big E deserves to be WWE Champion, but McIntyre wants the title back. When asked what he’d do if he got drafted to SmackDown, McIntyre said he’d go after the Universal Championship. The WWE Draft begins on SmackDown this Friday and concludes on Raw next Monday.
