Drew McIntyre issues Clash at the Castle warning to CM Punk

Drew McIntyre continues to simultaneously build up feuds with Damian Priest and CM Punk in advance of Clash at the Castle.

In his home country of Scotland, McIntyre will challenge Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship on Saturday, June 15. Punk isn’t able to wrestle at Clash at the Castle due to his torn triceps, but he has teased appearing at the show. In an interview with Cultaholic, McIntyre cut a promo warning Punk not to get involved in his match:

“I think it would be a mistake for a number of reasons after what happened last time at Clash, I really do not want something like that to happen again to the UK,” McIntyre said.

“This is Glasgow… this is Scotland, this is different. I would strongly suggest not getting involved or doing anything to rock the boat during this show as there’s a genuine chance you’ll get jumped. I’m not even joking. And there’s a genuine chance the security guards won’t stop them because they’re Scottish as well.

“I’m telling you, there’s a good chance you’ll get jumped and security will help jump you if you get involved in my match.”

McIntyre was part of the main event of WWE’s first Clash at the Castle event in 2022, losing to Roman Reigns. Interference by Solo Sikoa led to Reigns winning the match. That show was held in Cardiff, Wales.

In storyline, McIntyre has claimed responsibility for injuring Punk’s triceps in the Royal Rumble. He then attacked an injured Punk on Raw this January. The two have continued to antagonize each other since then. Punk helped cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. After McIntyre won the title from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, Priest immediately cashed in to become champion.

Punk told fans this April that, while he’s not 100 percent yet, he’s on track in his recovery from triceps surgery and will be back soon.

McIntyre turns 39 years old today (June 6). This week, he trolled Punk while at WWE headquarters.

Clash at the Castle is taking place from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on June 15 and will stream live on Peacock with a start time of 2 p.m. Eastern. Scottish wrestler Piper Niven is also set for a big role at the event, challenging Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship.
