Drew McIntyre on potential CM Punk WWE return: ‘I don’t make those decisions’

While doing media surrounding WWE’s Superstar Spectacle live event in India, Drew McIntyre was asked about the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE.

Sportskeeda WrestleBinge asked McIntyre if he’d like to kick Punk’s head off with a Claymore if Punk comes back to WWE. In his answer, McIntyre didn’t disclose much about his personal feelings on Punk.

“I don’t make those decisions,” McIntyre responded. “I watch what I say in interviews. But he’s certainly controversial and he gets people talking. I’ll leave it at that.”

Zelina Vega recently expressed that she would “absolutely” like to see Punk come back to WWE.

The Ringer Wrestling Show also asked Finn Balor if he’d like to work a program with Punk if Punk returned. “I’d be interested in wrestling a broomstick if someone’s going to pay me money,” Balor said. “So, show me the money. Money talks.”

It was announced on September 2 that AEW had terminated Punk’s contract with cause following a physical backstage incident that took place at All In. It was the second major incident involving Punk in less than a year.

It isn’t known if WWE would be open to the idea of bringing Punk back. He last wrestled for WWE when he walked out of the company in 2014.
