El Hijo del Vikingo reportedly injured, match on WWE NXT changed

AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo del Vikingo is reportedly injured.

According to a recent report by Cory of False Finish, Vikingo suffered an injury during his scheduled appearance on the June 30, 2026 episode of WWE NXT.

“El Hijo del Vikingo was injured earlier today going over the scheduled match with EK Prosper,” the report said. It also further addressed that the severity of Vikingo’s injury is not known yet. “It is currently unknown how serious the injury is.”

Ahead of his scheduled appearance on WWE NXT, Vikingo was also involved in a match on the June 29, 2026, taped episode of WWE SmackDown. According to Cory of False Finish, Vikingo was healthy after that match.

One of the advertised matches for the June 30th episode of WWE NXT was El Hijo del Vikingo defending his AAA Latin American Championship against E.K. Prosper. However, during the show, Keanu Carver attacked Vikingo backstage in an attempt to stop E.K. Prosper from having the title match.

Later, NXT General Manager Robert Stone cancelled the title match and instead announced Carver vs. Prosper.
