Finn Balor claims WWE has changed, says it’s better and safer work environment
Finn Balor believes WWE is now much better and a safer work environment than it was over 15 to 20 years ago.
Speaking to Nina Drama during his appearance at Zuffa Boxing’s recent event in Ireland, Balor opened up in detail about WWE’s current work environment.
Detailing the changes the promotion has experienced, the former Universal Champion claimed that it’s much better now. Balor claimed that the movie The Wrestler showed the industry’s reality from 15 to 20 years ago. However, as per Balor, WWE has changed over the years.
“Another wrestling movie is The Wrestler, which is very serious and kind of dark, but frighteningly real. Frighteningly real. Thankfully, that’s kind of based on a time probably about 15, 20 years ago. Thankfully, WWE has changed over the recent years, and it’s a much better place and safer work environment for the boys, so we’re very grateful for that.”
The WWE locker room is now much more inclusive and supportive, and many WWE Superstars have spoken about it.
Finn Balor believes his shoulder injury was a career-ending one
In the same appearance with Nina Drama, Balor opened up about all of his painful injuries and addressed how one of his shoulder injuries was potentially a career-ending one.
“Probably the most painful injury I’ve ever had was a broken jaw in two places, and I needed two surgeries to repair that. I dislocated my shoulder, and this one was a torn labrum, torn bicep, torn pec tendon, and I actually fractured the glenoid socket. So I was out for nine months with that. That was a potential career-ender,” Balor added.
Balor recently competed for a Championship title shot at WWE SummerSlam against Sami Zayn, Gunther, and the returning Kevin Owens.
