Finn Balor returns to NXT, confronts Adam Cole

Finn Balor is back in NXT.

After Adam Cole retained the NXT Championship against Matt Riddle on tonight’s NXT episode, Balor came out to the ring and confronted Cole in a post-match angle. Balor got on the microphone and declared: “As of now, Finn Balor is NXT.” Balor and Cole then exchanged words.

Balor first made his NXT debut in 2014 and was on the brand until being called up to the main roster in the 2016 WWE Draft. He held the NXT Championship from July 2015 to April 2016.

This was Balor’s first appearance on WWE television since taking a hiatus after SummerSlam. He lost to The Fiend at that pay-per-view.

WWE Shop has already released a new NXT T-shirt for Balor.

Cole vs. Riddle kicked off tonight’s NXT and there were no commercial breaks during the match. Cole had a cast on his right hand and hit Riddle with it near the end of the match. Cole then hit the Last Shot to retain the NXT Championship.

Cole has held the NXT title since winning it from Johnny Gargano at TakeOver XXV this June.
