First two wrestlers qualify for Women’s title ladder match at WWE SummerSlam
The first two wrestlers have qualified for the ladder match to crown an interim WWE Women’s Champion.
Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill on Friday won their qualifying matches, earning the opportunity to move on to SummerSlam next month where five women will compete to crown a new interim WWE Women’s Champion. Stratton was the first to qualify on Friday after defeating Jacy Jayne.
Meanwhile, Cargill qualified in a most unique way. Right as she was about to wrestle Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair arrived and attacked Cargill for the DQ. Seeking revenge for what Cargill did to Alexa Bliss last week, Flair wrapped Cargill’s arm in a steel chair and was about to stomp when Michin and B-Fab pulled Cargill to safety. After the result was announced, an angry Jax laid out Flair as a measure of revenge.
After complaining backstage, another qualifying match was made for next week: Jax will get another opportunity to qualify for SummerSlam when she faces Flair.
