Florida renaming trail to honor Hulk Hogan

The state of Florida is honoring Hulk Hogan by naming a portion of land after the late pro wrestling legend.

On Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and members of the Hogan family made an appearance at the Hogan’s Hangout restaurant in Clearwater to announce that part of the Pinellas Trail is being renamed to the “Hulk Hogan Trail.” Hogan’s wife Sky, his son Nick, Nick’s wife Tana, and Jimmy Hart were among those who attended the announcement.

The portion of the Clearwater trail that’s being renamed is a two-mile stretch between Oak Avenue and Coronado Drive. On that stretch, there will be red and yellow signs celebrating Hogan. There will also be exercise stations like pull-up bars set up for people to use.

Nick Hogan thanked DeSantis and everyone involved with making this happened. He called the trail a “living legacy” on behalf of his father, with Nick saying he hopes the trail is a place where people can exercise and work to become the best version of themselves.

“This is something that my dad would be so, so proud of,” Nick said. “Because Clearwater was always home for him. No matter how far he traveled around the world or where his career took him, he always was grounded here. And he loved this community, he loved the people here. So to know that a piece of the Clearwater trail has been dedicated in his honor is something that he would be so, so, so proud of and so happy about.”

An emotional Jimmy Hart called this a “great day,” and he thanked WWE, TKO, and DeSantis for everything they have done for Hogan’s legacy.

Hogan, 71, passed away at his home in Clearwater this July after experiencing several weeks of post-neck surgery complications. That surgery is at the center of a medical malpractice lawsuit that Hogan’s widow is planning to file.

Florida also honored Hogan by recognizing August 1, 2025 as “Hulk Hogan Day” following his death.
