Former WWE wrestler feared for his career after Randy Orton in-ring mishap
Former WWE star Jon Heidenreich revisited an accident during training with Randy Orton early in his career. He admitted he was terrified that it would cost him his spot in WWE.
Heidenreich recalled the incident involving Orton on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. While training, a move went wrong causing him to land awkwardly on Orton’s face and neck. Fortunately, Orton was not injured and cleared after medical evaluation. Heidenreich admitted he feared having to quit if something had gone wrong.
“Me and Randy, we were actually practicing one day, and I went to give him a sunset flip, or he was giving one, and I lost my balance and fell on him. I landed on his face and neck, and I thought I hurt him, man. I was like, I’m done. That’s Randy Orton. I thought I might have hurt his neck.”
“He turned out to be fine. They called an ambulance, bro, because I thought I landed on his face and his neck, and I was thinking ‘Oh my God, if I hurt him, I’ll say I’m just gonna quit, because they might kill me.’”
Heidenreich is known for his WWE tenure in the early 2000s where he was briefly managed by Paul Heyman, and had a noteworthy career feud against The Undertaker.
