Gunther celebration announced for WWE Raw

Gunther is holding a celebration after breaking Honky Tonk Man’s Intercontinental title record.

WWE has announced that Monday’s Raw will feature a celebration for Gunther becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion ever. He passed Honky Tonk Man this week for the longest reign in the championship’s history.

Gunther’s title reign is currently at 455 days. Honky Tonk Man’s reign was 454 days (recognized as 453 by WWE).

In order to break the record, Gunther had to defeat Chad Gable on Raw this past Monday. Gable took Gunther to his limit but was pinned after being dropped on his head, laid out with a powerbomb, and then given a lariat.

Gable’s family was in the front row for the match. His kids were shown crying after Gable lost.

In a post-show interview, Gable promised that this isn’t the end of his pursuit of the Intercontinental title.

Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia is hosting Monday’s episode of Raw. Here’s what’s been announced for the episode:
