Gunther sends message to John Cena ahead of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event
Gunther says John Cena will “give up for good” at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
On Sunday, Gunther posted a video to Instagram featuring comments he made immediately following his submission win over LA Knight in the finals of The Last Time is Now tournament on SmackDown.
In the video, Gunther says:
“Hey John, did you see that? I told you, pay attention. At Saturday Night’s Main Event, finally, you will give up. You’ll tap. You will give up for good.”
Gunther made Knight tap out to a cravat submission on Friday’s show. Two other matches for Saturday Night’s Main Event were also confirmed on SmackDown, with Bayley wrestling Sol Ruca, and Cody Rhodes declaring he’d wrestle the winner of the NXT Championship match at Deadline, which ended up being Oba Femi.
Saturday Night’s Main Event next week takes place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. As of Friday’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, 16,483 tickets were out for the show, with a little under 800 remaining.
