Gunther opens up on challenging Brock Lesnar next

Gunther has shared his thoughts on facing Brock Lesnar in WWE.

Two of the most dominant men on the WWE roster, Gunther and Brock Lesnar, have never unfortunately squared off against each other in singles action. Despite sharing the ring in Royal Rumble matches, the two have yet to face each other.

Recently, during an interview on the Italian Wrestling Channel, Gunther was asked about a potential match with Lesnar in the future.

Despite not ruling out the chances, the former champion claimed that he is currently focused on Cody Rhodes and his upcoming title match in Italy.

“I wasn’t even there on that day at Mania, because it was the day after me, when a lot of it happened with Brock, so I only saw it in a headline, and that’s literally all the info I had. Obviously, he’s back now, but I haven’t thought about it. I’m really focused on what I’m doing with Cody now. I will be challenging for the WWE Undisputed Championship in Italy, and that’s my full focus right now,” he said.

After I beat Cody [Rhodes] then Brock [Lesnar] can challenge me, and we’ll do that.

While Gunther defeated Seth Rollins at WWE WrestleMania 42, Lesnar lost to Oba Femi on Night Two of WrestleMania 42 and seemingly retired after the bout. However, in reality, he had other intentions.

Has Brock Lesnar retired from WWE?

While many believed Lesnar had retired after WWE WrestleMania 42, he recently returned on an episode of Monday Night RAW and took down Oba Femi.

The two are now set to fight at Clash in Italy, as confirmed by a graphic during the latest edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
