Gunther on his WWE goals, if he sees himself as best wrestler in the world
Taking on more and more responsibilities is Gunther’s biggest goal for his WWE career.
During the latest episode of “What Do You Wanna Talk About?,” Cody Rhodes asked Gunther if he knows what he wants to achieve next in WWE. The Ring General explained that he doesn’t keep a traditional list of goals. He just wants to keep growing and conquer the next situation that’s put in front of him.
“Yeah, but not in the sense of like I never had that list of ‘That’s what I want to achieve, I want to win this’ or whatever. It’s more like, I don’t know, I always kind of want to grow in the responsibility I can take on, if that makes sense. I feel like that’s what kind of drives me, where it’s like, ‘Okay, I’ve mastered this very difficult situation. Okay, now I can master something even more difficult.’ I see it kind of like in that sense. And I guess in our world that automatically means like titles, big matches, and all of that.”
Gunther said wrestling is always what he’s wanted to do. Throughout his career, he’s always had fun in all of his matches, even if he wasn’t feeling great going into the bout.
Over the past year, Gunther has retired all three of Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles. He’s adopted the moniker of “Career Killer” and would like to add Brock Lesnar to that list next.
Rhodes asked Gunther if he believes himself to be the best wrestler in the world.
“See, I don’t think about that. I don’t know,” he responded before Rhodes pressed him to answer. “At least one of, It’s hard to say.”
