Indie wrestler with AEW past getting WWE tryout
Indie wrestler KJ Orso, who previously competed for AEW as Fuego Del Sol, is reportedly getting a WWE tryout.
Fightful reports that Orso is among those planned to attend the tryout WWE is holding in Minnesota this week surrounding SummerSlam 2026. Without directly confirming the news, Orso made a tweet referencing the report: “Any exciting wrestling news drop today?” He also shared some posts on Instagram with people congratulating him on the tryout.
Since losing his mask in April 2025, Orso has continued to be a regular for GCW. He’s part of Sammy Guevara’s vlog crew and competed at TNA Genesis earlier this year in a four-way match for the TNA International Championship.
“Grateful for the opportunity but I won’t celebrate it truly until I get what I’m coming for,” Orso tweeted last week.

This set of tryouts is also set to include Josh Bishop (MLW), J-Rod (American Gladiators/OVW), Brooke Havoc (former AEW Dark competitor), and more. A few of the attendees were handpicked by AJ Styles in his WWE scouting role. Styles named Havok, Conan Lycan, Colton Theron Vaught, Joe Lando, and Monica Monroe as talent he selected.
