New York Knicks MVP: You ‘have to believe’ in the power of Danhausen
Danhausen got a mention when the NBA champion New York Knicks appeared on Monday’s edition of The Tonight Show.
During their title run, Danhausen became linked with the Knicks when he supposedly “uncursed” them, which led to the team winning 13 straight playoff games at one point. They did drop one game to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals but closed out the series over the weekend.
Several Knicks stopped by The Tonight Show last night, with host Jimmy Fallon asking Jalen Brunson — the NBA Finals MVP and a big WWE fan — if he believes Danhausen contributed to their victory.
“At first, I was a little skeptical,” Brunson replied. “But, I mean, you have to believe it now. You have to believe it now.”
It’s expected that Danhausen will be at the Knicks’ parade later this week. Fanatics has already released a Danhausen-themed shirt for the NBA champions, and WWE will have at least one player from the team at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 when the show emanates from the Knicks’ home arena of Madison Square Garden.
Brunson has made a WWE appearance in the past and been a guest on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast.
Danhausen responds to Tonight Show mention —
On X, Danhausen responded to Brunson giving him the seal of approval.
“DANHAUSEN KNEW THEY BELIEVED,” he wrote. “Thank you @jalenbrunson @KarlTowns and @FallonTonight for confirming Danhausens cursing and uncursing powers to the world.”
WWE aired a video package on Raw last night congratulating the Knicks and celebrating Danhausen’s association with the team. In a backstage segment on the show, Liv Morgan unsuccessfully tried to persuade Danhausen into helping Judgment Day advance in King & Queen of the Ring by cursing their opponents.
