Joe Hendry chose WWE NXT to ‘evolve as a wrestler’
Joe Hendry has revealed his reasons to join WWE following his successfull stint at TNA Wrestling.
Last year, Hendry became one of the biggest talking points in the pro-wrestling industry after his theme song went viral online. Following a strong TNA World Championship reign and multiple cameo appearances on WWE NXT and the main roster, Hendry recently signed a new contract with WWE. Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, he discussed his decision.
“Right now I am obsessed with getting better at wrestling, and trying to be the absolute best professional wrestler that I can be,” Hendry added.
Explaining his decision to ‘evolve as a wrestler’, he continued,
“That is, for me, the primary reason why I chose to come to NXT, was to evolve as a wrestler. Because I really feel I can take this all the way, and the Performance Center has the tools for me to do that. I am obsessed with getting better, so I actually find it super hard to switch off from the wrestling business and relax.”
Still early into his WWE career, Hendry has already earned a WrestleMania match against Randy Orton and is reportedly signed to a main-roster–level deal despite currently competing in NXT.
