John Cena thinks he will be ‘forgotten’ by fans before the Royal Rumble
John Cena feels like fans will forget him shortly after his retirement and as quickly as next month’s Royal Rumble.
Appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Cena explained his reasoning:
“I’m gonna retire on the 13th, they will be moved on by the Royal Rumble,” he added. “That is real facts. I will be forgotten. That is not a plea to sympathy of like ‘always remember me.’ By the Royal Rumble, the road to WrestleMania, nobody gives a f*ck because they’re focusing on what the show is. That’s like three weeks after I retire. Three weeks after I retire, nobody’s going to give a f*ck.”
Cena will face either Gunther or LA Knight next Saturday, depending on who wins the Last Time is Now tournament finals on Friday.
John Cena speaks out the reasons for his retirement
Recently, appearing in an interview with Bill Simmons, he opened up about his reasons to retire.
“This is something that I’ve heard a lot this past year. Man, you are going out on your own terms. That’s bulls**t. I want to do it forever.”
“But, my body hurts, I’m a step slower. I promised myself and the fanbase when I started before I won that first championship, when I am a step slower, I’m out.”
