WWE announces John Cena’s Boston, MSG farewells

Update —

WrestleVotes reports that Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. will be the venue for Cena’s retirement match on December 13.

The city of Boston will not be hosting John Cena’s retirement match.
While it’s been heavily speculated that Boston would be the location for Cena’s final match this December, that will not be the case. The Boston Herald reports that Cena’s last WWE appearance in the city will instead happen at TD Garden on the November 10 episode of Raw. That means the location for Cena’s retirement bout — set for a December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event — remains a mystery.
Additionally, the New York Post confirms that Cena will have his Madison Square Garden farewell on the November 17 episode of Raw, with tickets to the Boston and NYC shows both set to go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Eastern time on September 10.
Cena only has eight dates left on his WWE retirement tour, and all eight look to now have been revealed. He’ll be in Chicago tonight for his last appearance in the city and what could be his final time on SmackDown before retirement.
Here are the dates Cena has lined up:
- Friday, September 5: WWE SmackDown (Rosemont, Illinois)
- Monday, September 15: WWE Raw (Springfield, Massachusetts)
- Saturday, September 20: WWE Wrestlepalooza (Indianapolis, Indiana)
- Monday: November 10: WWE Raw (Boston, Massachusetts)
- Monday, November 17: WWE Raw (New York City, New York)
- Saturday, October 11: WWE Crown Jewel: Perth (Perth, Australia)
- Saturday, November 29: WWE Survivor Series (San Diego, California)
- Saturday, December 13: WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (location TBA)
