Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract is up very soon, according to a report.

Fightful Select reports that Gargano’s contract is set to expire on December 10, five days after the WWE NXT WarGames pay-per-view. The report states that Gargano’s deal was originally set to expire on December 3, two days before the pay-per-view, but that he agreed to a short-term extension similar to the one that Adam Cole signed when his WWE contract was about to run out before the NXT TakeOver 36 event in August.

Fightful also reports that Gargano and WWE have been engaged in ongoing contract discussions, and that the company speaks highly of Gargano signing the short-term extension while in the middle of a program.

Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne and LA Knight will face Bron Breakker, NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller and Tony D’Angelo in a WarGames match at the WarGames pay-per-view on Sunday, December 5. The match was made official following the show-closing angle on this week’s NXT episode that saw all eight brawling.
