Karrion Kross WWE contract update

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on Karrion Kross’ contract status with WWE.

Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts are set to expire imminently and there’s been no word about them re-signing with the company. While it’s been suggested that they have not been offered new deals, it appears that is not the case.

“I was told that the story about him not being signed to a contract, I heard that that is legit but that he did get an offer,” Meltzer said about Kross. “The story that he didn’t get an offer — and maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer. I don’t expect him going anywhere.”

Meltzer said the situation smells like an angle, especially given that WWE has promoted Kross’ new book and Paul Heyman praised him on The Ariel Helwani Show this week, comparing the momentum Kross has generated with the audience to the rises of Steve Austin, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk.

Fan support for Kross has been growing on social media for months. In April, a promo he cut about being left off the WrestleMania card went viral online. Since then, it’s appeared that WWE is leaning into the narrative about Kross being disrespected and underutilized to help build his popularity.

Kross was featured at SummerSlam last weekend, losing to Sami Zayn.
