Kevin Owens calls Rebel’s fight with ALS ‘inspirational’
Kevin Owens recently made a surprising move and called out AEW wrestler Rebel’s fight with ALS following his return at WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two.
With almost the entire AEW roster, including Tony Khan, coming together to support Rebel, WWE’s Owens also joined the list when he publicly addressed Rebel’s unfortunate situation.
Owens himself returned to the ring at WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two after an almost career-ending neck injury. Speaking at the SummerSlam post-show, Owens addressed his comeback before expressing his support for Tanea Brooks, a.k.a. Rebel’s battle with terminal ALS.
“There’s somebody called Tanea Brooks, who’s known to wrestling fans as Rebel. She has not wrestled here, but some things are bigger than wrestling. She’s currently battling ALS, and the way she’s doing it is so incredible. I looked at her and what she was going through, and the way she powered through it, and it was truly inspirational,” Owens said.
At WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night Two, Owens and Gunther were revealed as surprise additions to the Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn match. The returning Owens won the Fatal-Four-Way bout to earn himself a WWE Undisputed title shot against CM Punk.
