Kevin Owens has less than six months left on WWE contract

Kevin Owens doesn’t have a lot of time left on his WWE contract.
The 40-year-old former Universal Champion revealed in an interview with Metro UK on May 4 that he had nine months until his deal expired. He recently told Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown that the only thing that has changed regarding his contractual status since then is that there is now less time remaining on the agreement.
“He tells The Takedown on SI that the only change in his contract status since then is that there’s now less time on his deal,” wrote Rick Ucchino.
Owens signed a three-year deal with WWE in late 2021 that is believed to be in the $2-3 million per year range.
“It’s a very good money deal,” our own Dave Meltzer wrote shortly after Owens signed. “I think that the feeling was it was more than he would be able to get with AEW. It’s $2-3 million, in that range, per year, so it may be. I don’t want to say it probably will be because I don’t know what AEW would have offered.”
Owens is currently involved in a program with Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown and will challenge Rhodes for the WWE Championship next Saturday at Bash in Berlin.
