Kevin Owens qualifies for WWE Money in the Bank

Kevin Owens is headed to Money in the Bank.

Owens defeated Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing match on SmackDown tonight to qualifying for this year’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Owens hit a pop-up powerbomb, a stunner, powerbombed Zayn through two tables, and then powerbombed Zayn on the apron during the closing stretch of the match.

Zayn had sent Owens off the top turnbuckle and through two tables that were stacked up outside of the ring during tonight’s match, but Owens got up before the 10 count. Zayn also gave Owens three Helluva Kicks in a row at one point, but Owens rolled out of the ring to his feet before the referee could count to 10.

Ricochet, John Morrison, Riddle, Drew McIntyre, Big E, and Owens are the first six wrestlers to qualify for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. The final two spots will be determined by qualifying matches on next Friday’s SmackDown. The qualifying matches are Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin.

Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Cross, Carmella, and the returning Zelina Vega have been announced for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match thus far.

Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas is hosting Money in the Bank on Sunday, July 18.
