Kit Wilson on run since Elton Prince injury: ‘I’ve had to spread my wings’
Kit Wilson spoke to The Sun ahead of his match against Jelly Roll on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
During the interview, Wilson said he has received advice from many people since his Pretty Deadly tag team partner Elton Prince was injured. He noted having a special bond with fellow NXT UK alumni, specifically mentioning Alba Fyre as someone he has connected with due to their similar situations.
Wilson said:
“I’ve had to spread my wings a bit [since Elton Prince got injured] and I talk to everyone. I do have a special connection with some of the NXT UK guys.”
“Me and Alba [Fyre] were sitting on the bleachers before SmackDown, hanging out and talking. Obviously she’s in a situation with Piper Niven who has a similar injury situation to Elton, so we’ve got that in common. We talk about that and other things.”
He also mentioned that he’ll be starting a book club with Axiom titled “Book Marks.”
“I’m getting a lot of advice. The Miz has been a great help. Everyone has been very helpful and I could go through them and expose them all, but Sami Zayn and The Miz have been really good to pick their brains, get advice and bounce ideas off.”
Regarding an update on Prince’s recovery, Wilson said his partner is hitting all of his markers, but a return is still a long way off.
“I don’t have any kind of breaking news update other than things are on track. He’s had the surgery, it went well and he’s hitting the markers as he should be. However, it’s still a long, long, long, long road ahead, if any.”
“We don’t talk too much about our future plans or situations.”
“Sometimes things will come up and we’ll talk a bit, but we’re kind of just letting life happen and we’re crossing our fingers.”
