Kurt Angle sent 'on vacation,' Corbin named acting GM of WWE Raw

Tonight’s Raw saw the end of Kurt Angle’s run as Raw General manager...or it may just be a vacation.

After Stephanie McMahon was armbar’d by Ronda Rousey earlier in the show, she was shown backstage with Constable Corbin and Kurt Angle icing her arm. She was upset at Angle for not helping her. Corbin inserted himself in the matter, mentioning how Angle has forced him to wrestle in matches unprepared. Stephanie noted that she could see how the last year and a half was wearing on Angle, and decided to send him on a vacation. How long Angle will be out was intentionally left vague, though Stephnie noted that it wasn’t a permanent vacation. She then named Constable Corbin the acting General Manager of Raw.

Angle tweeted about his vacation on Instagram after the show was over, noting that he didn’t know if the vacation was permanent or not.

“I’m really sorry that I won’t be on Monday Night Raw for a little while,” Angle wrote. “I enjoyed every minute of it with the WWEUniverse. I was told by @stephaniemcmahon that I need a vacation. I don’t know if it’s temporary or permanent. I Hope I will be back sooner than later. Thank you WWEUniverse. Much Love. #itstrue”

Angle was named General Manager of Raw the day following WrestleMania 33, and two days after he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
