LA Knight to face Grayson Waller on WWE SmackDown

Following his loss at Crown Jewel, LA Knight will be back in action on SmackDown this Friday night.

WWE has announced that Knight vs. Grayson Waller will take place on Friday’s episode of SmackDown. The match was set up by an interaction between Knight and Waller on social media.

In a tweet, Waller mocked Knight for losing to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel. Waller said that, if Knight wants to stay relevant, he can become Waller & Austin Theory’s new manager.

“Seems @RealLAKnight is in desperate need of the Grayson Waller Rub after Roman ran through him at Crown Jewel,” Waller wrote. “Luckily A-Town Down Under is a very handsome team, so maybe he can go back to managing some real stars to keep relevant.”

Knight then posted a video responding to Waller. Knight said he talked to SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis and had a match made against Waller for Friday’s show.

Interference by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa led to Knight losing to Reigns at Crown Jewel.

Friday’s SmackDown is being held at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Two matches have been announced for the show so far:

  • LA Knight vs. Grayson Waller
  • Carlito vs. Bobby Lashley
