Last Time is Now tournament update following WWE SmackDown

Two wrestlers advanced in The Last Time is Now tournament on Friday’s WWE SmackDown, plus the final first round matchups have been announced.

In the first round of the tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent, LA Knight and Jey Uso advanced to the quarterfinals with victories on Friday’s episode.

Knight was victorious over the returning Zack Ryder in his first round matchup, and Uso defeated The Miz in Friday’s other first round battle. They join Sheamus and Rusev in the quarterfinals.

The last first round matches were also made official for the Friday, November 21 SmackDown. In one, Penta will face Finn Balor. In the other, Bronson Reed will take on Carmelo Hayes.

The other remaining first round matches are already set for this coming Monday’s WWE Raw, with Solo Sikoa vs. a mystery opponent, and Gunther vs. Je’Von Evans.

The tournament winner will face John Cena in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC on Saturday, December 13.
