Liv Morgan stalker found not guilty by reason of insanity
The case against a man who stalked WWE star Liv Morgan (Gionna Daddio) has ended with him being found not guilty by reason of insanity.
First reported by Post Wrestling, a U.S. judge in the Middle District of Florida ruled on Monday that Shawn Chan — who was arrested outside of the WWE Performance Center in June 2025 — has been found not guilty by reason of insanity and will be released into ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) custody. Chan, who is in his 40s and is from Canada, was facing up to five years in prison on federal stalking charges.
Chan was accused of flying to Florida in May 2025 and going to Morgan’s private address, where he searched for a spare key and attempted to get in through the front door. At one point, security footage showed him picking up and holding a long air rifle pellet gun that had been left in the porch area. He ultimately did not get into the home but left a note that claimed he was there for a “friendly visit.” Chan included his address and phone number on the note.
Days later, Chan showed up to the WWE Performance Center and was arrested after being recognized by security.
The legal process went on for a year before concluding today. Two psychologists stated that, because of his mental condition, Chan was unable to grasp the wrongfulness of his actions. He was diagnosed with delusional disorder and adjustment disorder with depressed and anxious moods, and Chan delusionally claimed to have known Morgan and been in a relationship with her. Chan waived his right to a jury trial prior to today’s ruling.
Morgan, the current Women’s World Champion in WWE, is competing in the ongoing Queen of the Ring tournament and will face Charlotte Flair in the semifinals on SmackDown this Friday. The other semifinal between IYO SKY and Raquel Rodriguez is happening on Raw tonight.
