MLW wrestler, American Gladiators competitor, more invited to WWE tryout
An MLW wrestler and an “American Gladiators” competitor are among those invited to WWE’s next tryout.
During SummerSlam week, WWE is holding a tryout in Minneapolis. The list of attendees is starting to emerge with participants announcing their invites on social media. Josh Bishop, who’s held the MLW Tag Team titles with Donovan Dijak, shared that he’s been invited. So has J-Rod (Jessica Roden), who competes for OVW and was a gladiator on Amazon’s recent “American Gladiators” reboot.
Bishop replaced Baron Corbin (who wrestled as Bishop Dyer outside of WWE) in MLW’s tag team The Skyscrapers now that Corbin is back with WWE. From Ohio, Bishop got his wrestling start for AIW.
On American Gladiators, J-Rod’s name was “Supernova.” The show had significant pro wrestling representation with The Miz hosting the series and J-Rod, Wardlow, Kamille, Jessie Godderz, and former WWE wrestler Rick Boogs on the cast.

Josiah Jean of Reality of Wrestling also announced his invite, thanking Booker T and Sharmell for helping him get to this point. Jean is from Houston and has worked a few enhancement matches on ROH.
