Mustafa Ali returns to WWE TV on Raw

Tonight’s post-Extreme Rules episode of Raw featured Mustafa Ali’s first televised match of 2020.

Ali returned to WWE television as Ricochet & Cedric Alexander’s partner for a six-man tag team match against MVP, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin on Raw tonight. MVP said they were going to have a two-on-two match because Apollo Crews wasn’t there and Ricochet & Alexander didn’t have anyone else to team with, but Ricochet & Alexander then revealed Ali as their partner.

Ali, Ricochet & Alexander got the win when Ali pinned MVP after hitting a 450 splash from the top rope. Ali had taken Lashley out with a suicide dive to the outside, sending him over the announce table. Ricochet also took out Benjamin with a moonsault.

Dave Meltzer confirmed last month that Ali was moving to the Raw roster. Ali had been kept off TV so far this year and it was speculated that he would be revealed as the person behind the hacker angle on SmackDown.

MVP is calling himself United States Champion after Apollo Crews was unable to compete in their scheduled match at Extreme Rules last night, though Crews is still officially champion.

Benjamin won the 24/7 title from R-Truth on Raw tonight.
