Netflix reveals premiere date for ‘WWE: Unreal’ season three
Season three of “WWE: Unreal” is set to arrive on Netflix next month.
At the end of season two, it was announced that “Unreal” had been renewed for a new slate of episodes that would drop this summer. Netflix has now announced Tuesday, July 21 as the premiere date, with season three heavily focusing on John Cena’s retirement tour and final match against Gunther.
“OFFICIAL: @WWE: Unreal Season 3 will release on Netflix on July 21,” the streamer wrote. “John Cena says goodbye, a fan favorite returns, and the next generation of WWE Superstars rise to the occasion. Buckle up.”
The fan favorite is seemingly AJ Lee, who recently confirmed her participation in “Unreal.” She came out of retirement in September 2025 for her first match in more than a decade. Lee is now on a break from WWE after competing through WrestleMania 42.
When the season three announcement was mentioned on WWE Raw today, Michael Cole called it the biggest season of the docuseries yet. Seasons one and two each consisted of five episodes that were each roughly one hour long.
“Unreal” is produced by WWE, Omaha Productions, NFL Films, and Skydance Sports. The behind-the-scenes series received three nominations in the 2026 Sports Emmy Awards but did not win in any of those categories.
