The New Day to defend against The Club at WWE Clash of Champions

In addition to the show’s Universal Championship main event, a Tag Team Championship match was added to the upcoming Clash of Champions card on Monday’s Raw.

At Clash of Champions, The New Day will once again defend their titles against The Club. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows previously defeated The New Day at SummerSlam, but they failed to win the titles in the process. They won by disqualification after Big E returned from a storyline groin injury to interfere and help his partners.

In a lengthy comedy segment that fell flat with the crowd on Monday’s Raw, Anderson and Gallows brought out three imposters (called The Old Day) pretending to be geriatric versions of Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The present-day New Day then came out and chased Anderson and Gallows away from the ring. One of the imposters tried to attack The New Day after, but all three were laid out by the tag champions.

Clash of Champions is Raw’s first brand-exclusive pay-per-view since the WWE Draft. It will take place on Sunday, September 25th in Indianapolis, IN.

The current card for the show is:

  • WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens defending against Seth Rollins
  • Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day defending against The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows)
