New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Fatal Influence win Women's Tag Team titles

New Women’s Tag Team Champions have been crowned.

Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles Saturday, defeating Paige and Brie Bella to win the titles for the first time. The finish had Paige rolling up Reid, only for Jacy Jayne on the apron to push Paige over, allowing Reid to roll through and score the victory and the titles. A stunned Paige and Bella reacted in the ring as the new champions celebrated on the apron.

A surprise team & title win

Paige and Bella had held the titles since WrestleMania 42, with Paige making her WWE return and replacing Nikki Bella at the last minute following an injury. In the weeks following the title win, the two had been consistently defending the titles both on Raw and SmackDown. They even wrestled their future opponents on a June episode of SmackDown, successfully defeating them in a non-title match. Paige then defeated Jacy Jayne the following week on SmackDown.

Reid, however, eventually scored a win over Bella, setting up the title match for SNME.
