NWA wrestler says WWE is looking to send more talent to NWA
It sounds like we could be seeing some more collaboration between WWE and the NWA.
WWE wrestler Nattie competed for the NWA once in 2025 and is returning this weekend for the promotion’s 78th anniversary show. Billy Corgan has spoken positively about how Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Nick Khan have treated him, and NWA wrestler Kerry Morton tells the Hitting the Turnbuckle podcast that the relationship between the two promotions is a good one. Morton teased that Nattie might not be the only WWE wrestler who ends up crossing over into the NWA.
“It’s nice to have a good relationship with the WWE [and] the National Wrestling Alliance. You know, Billy’s mentioned it before and it’s true,” Morton said. “I had small-talk conversations with them. It’s great to have that good relationship. They are actively looking at a lot of talent, and they’re looking at sending more talent to the National Wrestling Alliance.”
Morton believes the NWA-WWE relationship says a lot about the NWA’s success and values. He is looking forward to defeating any WWE wrestlers who come into the NWA.
“That’s a cool relationship that’s going to be happening,” Morton said. “I’m looking forward to that evolving and looking forward to beating all the guys that can kiss my ass in the WWE that come over here to the NWA. So, looking forward to beating them.”
Nattie at NWA 78 —
NWA 78 this Saturday (July 25) is taking place from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. It won’t be airing live, with the NWA instead breaking up the show into future episodes of NWA Power on Comet TV.
Nattie has a triple threat match against sisters Kenzie Paige and Kylie Paige scheduled for the show. Morton (the son of Rock ‘n’ Roll Express legend Ricky Morton) will take on Colby Corino in a singles bout.
