Oba Femi to Cody Rhodes following NXT Deadline: ‘Change always wins’
Oba Femi wants Cody Rhodes to know that “the biggest factor is change.”
Femi defeated Ricky Saints to regain the NXT Championship at Deadline on Saturday. The win also earned him the opportunity to wrestle WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event next week.
On Sunday, WWE posted footage of Femi following NXT Deadline. In the video, Femi says:
“The biggest factor is change. Change came knocking at the door of Ricky Saints tonight and it asked for his title, and he had no choice but to relinquish because change always wins.”
“When change met the dinosaurs, he sent the meteor. When change met man in the Old Testament, he sent the flood. And when change comes to the main roster asking for Cody Rhodes, he will send the ruler, the destroyer, the bringer of war, Oba Femi!”
With his win over Saints at Deadline, Femi became the eighth wrestler to win the NXT Championship multiple times. It was the 35th time the title has changed hands. Saints’ title reign ends after 70 days following his win over Femi at No Mercy. He had two successful title defenses on WWE programming during his reign, both against Trick Williams. He also defended the title several times at NXT live events.
