Paige misses WWE SmackDown due to travel issues

Paige’s advertised appearance on tonight’s SmackDown didn’t end up taking place.

Paige was set for a segment where she would confront SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley on the show, but Michael Cole said that Paige couldn’t make it due to travel issues. Paige also tweeted: “Sorry guys travel made it very hard for me to get there for #SmackDownLIVE with everything that’s going on. Completely out of my control. very sorry.. But at least @itsBayleyWWE is keeping you entertained.”

Bayley and Sasha Banks appeared at the start of tonight’s SmackDown at the WWE Performance Center and asked where Paige was. When Cole said Paige had travel issues, Banks said Paige is just jealous like the rest of the women’s division. Banks and Bayley were then interrupted by Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Banks & Bayley defeated Bliss & Cross in a tag match after Asuka interfered and attacked Bliss. Banks submitted Cross with the Banks Statement.

Bliss & Cross have been calling out Asuka & Kairi Sane for a shot at the Women’s Tag Team titles.

Paige is part of the panel for WWE Backstage. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, FOX Sports announced this morning that FS1 is suspending production on its live studio shows — including WWE Backstage — through at least next Friday.
